Support GorGai

Did GorGai help? Buy me a coffee! 🐔

GorGai is free, and it is staying free. No account, no paywall, nothing locked behind a plan. If it got you reading Thai and you fancy chipping in, there is a Ko-fi page. Totally optional, and nothing on the site changes either way!

Buy me a coffee on Ko-fi

Opens Ko-fi in a new tab. One-off, no account needed on your side.

Where it actually goes

  • Bandwidth. Every letter, word and tone example plays from a sound file stored here rather than being fetched from an outside service each time, so it comes out the instant you tap. A few hundred files, played a lot, is not free to serve.
  • Hosting and the domain. Small, but it does not pay itself.
  • Time. Every feature on GorGai came from someone writing in to ask for it. More coffee, more features.

Things that will never happen

  • A paywall on any of the practice modes.
  • An account you have to make before you can use it.
  • Selling anything about what you do here. Your progress is saved in your own browser and never reaches us.
  • An ad inside the practice area. Not one, ever.

That is the deal, coffee or no coffee. 😊

Free ways to help, if you would rather

Honestly, these are worth just as much:

  • Leave a testimonial. It takes a minute and it helps the next person decide whether this is worth their time.
  • Tell me what to build next. Every feature here started as one of these.
  • Send GorGai to someone who is learning Thai. Word of mouth is how anyone finds it.
  • Turn off your ad blocker for gorgai.net. The ads are what keep the lights on, and they never go anywhere near the practice area.

Now go and practise! 🎉

Forty-four consonants, thirty-two vowel forms, real words and the tone rules. All of it free.
